Action on Hearing Loss is not required to have a Modern Slavery Statement, as our annual turnover is less than £36m. Annual turnover is the amount received from the supply of goods and services that fall within the ordinary activities of the commercial organisation and subsidiaries after the deduction of trade discounts, VAT and any other taxes.
Action on Hearing Loss is a national charity that supports Deaf people and those who have hearing loss or tinnitus. We campaign for equality, provide information and support, and fund research to find treatments for those who want them.
We are governed by a Board of Trustees who volunteer their time to help direct our work. They oversee our Chief Executive and Executive Directors who manage our staff and volunteers across the charity.
We have one wholly owned trading subsidiary and three wholly owned subsidiaries which are dormant.
We use a broad range of suppliers who provide goods and services for our commercial, fundraising, services and other charitable activities. All our suppliers are based in the United Kingdom, Europe or North America. This includes vendors used in our:
- care homes
- community services
- communication services
- fundraising events
- product fulfilment, and
- promotional materials.
We strive to act with integrity and our whistle-blowing policy encourages staff to report any concerns, including concerns regarding modern slavery and human trafficking.
