We’re becoming RNID again: why we are changing our name

JobSense employment service

This page is also available in Welsh (Cymraeg).

JobSense is an employment service that has been set up to support people aged over 25, who are Deaf, have a hearing loss and/or sight loss, to find paid work or to move closer to finding work by gaining work experience, a qualification or a work relevant certificate.

The service is only available in Wales.

Coronavirus update: Our JobSense employment service is still open for referrals and we are currently working out ways to meet with participants other than face to face.

How we can help

We support people who are Deaf or have hearing loss, and people who have a sight loss, including deafblind people, who have been out of work for over 12 months or who are facing complex barriers due to their sensory loss. We support them to access paid work of their choice or to help them gain qualifications or work relevant certifications which will help them into work in the future.

We also work with employers to ensure that they receive useful information and support to be able to successfully recruit and support people with hearing or sight loss into their organisations in an accessible and sustainable way.

JobSense started supporting participants from March 2019 and has already seen a wide range of people with hearing and sight loss benefit from the support provided by our skilled and dedicated employment advisors.

All our advisers are trained in sensory loss awareness and many can use British Sign Language (BSL). We can also help if your sensory loss is part of a broader disability.
