We’re becoming RNID again: why we are changing our name

Translational research

Across the UK, 12 million people have hearing loss and around one in 10 adults live with tinnitus. Despite this, there are not yet any clinically approved treatments or cures.

We are determined to change this. We support translational research – where promising discoveries move from the laboratory into clinical trials. Our Translational Research Initiative for Hearing (TRIH) initiative has four key components:

  • funding
  • consultancy
  • working with partners
  • engaging with patients.
